North Energy, based near Stocksfield, Northumberland is winning work by linking  investors to people with land, suitable for wind turbines largely due to the rapid growth in interest in renewable energy prompted by the Government’s Feed In Tariffs (FIT’s) scheme.

A network of new merchant wind companies  are emerging  to take advantage of the Government incentives – these businesses have the capital and financial expertise to help landowners who wish to enter the renewables market – North Energy,  is working with businesses keen to invest in wind turbines of all sizes.

North Energy are renewable energy experts and can undertake research for landowners them or can find suitable sites, screen them and enter into negotiations on their behalf. North Energy can assess a site’s suitability and pull the planning application together for the client. The landowner, in return, receives a regular rental income from the energy generated by the turbine(s) and also receive free or cut price electricity.

North Energy Associates, which itself is headquartered in a building heated by biomass, was established in 1992 and now employs 11 people. The company also has a base in Sheffield. The company have done work for the biofuels industry on Teesside and lifecycle analysis (LCA) work for clients. In addition, North Energy help businesses to reduce their energy consumption and therefore their bills, and also with the choice of machinery also with the aim of reducing energy bills.
